Dalton State Students Rally At Capitol For Education Funding

     Georgia college students gathered at the state capitol Monday to rally against cutting the education budget.

     About 30 Dalton State students made the trip because they're worried budget cuts that could lead to higher tuition, fees, and fewer professors.

English Only Bill In Tennessee Legislature

     It would make the state give the written part of the driver's license test only in English.
     But Opponents say the bill might scare off foreign investors in the state like Volkswagen.

Howard High Parents, Graduates Plan to Fight Possible State Takeover

There's fallout tonight from Tennessee's efforts to grab more federal money for schools.  "Race to the Top" legislation approved earlier this year would give the state's commissioner of education the funds needed to create a special school district.  Howard High School in Hamilton County would be included in that district.

     They want to show it to teens in our area.
     The North Brainerd community has literally been under the gun in the last few weeks.

Hamilton County Commissioner Curtis Adams Takes Crossville City Manager Job

     Hamilton County Commissioner Curtis Adams takes the job as Crossville's new city manager.
     The city council unanimously voted to hire him Tuesday night.
     Adams plans on stepping down from the commission after budget hearings in early May.
