
Swine Flu Vaccines Now Available in Whitfield and Murray Counties

The North Georgia Health District is offering their first swine flu vaccines beginning today.
They are reserved for the high priority groups.
They have 4,100 doses available at the health departments in Whitfield and Murray counties from 7:30 AM to 5:50 PM.
On Fridays, the clinics close early at 11:30.
It's first come, first served.
The priority groups that are first to receive the H1N1 injectable vaccine, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), include:
- Pregnant women
- Health care and emergency medical personnel
- People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months
- Anyone from 6 months to 24 years of age, and
- Anyone from 25 to 64 years of age who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza related complications
Vaccine will be provided at no charge to the client; however, an administrative fee may be charged through Medicare, Medicaid, and all third party insurance including State Health Benefit plans for United Healthcare and CIGNA. Persons are asked to bring their insurance cards with them at the time of service.
