John is a graduate of Washington State University. He started his broadcasting career in Yakima, Washington as an intern with an ABC affiliate. At the end of his internship, he was hired as a television reporter. Upon leaving Yakima, he accepted an anchoring position at KOBI in Medford, Oregon.
In 1995 he worked at KTVN in Reno, Nevada as a general assignment reporter and anchor for the 5:30 p.m. news broadcast. Eventually, his anchoring duties expanded to the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. news broadcasts.
John says that covering Reno’s New Year`s Day flood of 1997 was one of the highlights of his broadcasting career. It was a time of profound loss, and an unbelievable show of Mother Nature`s strength.
John is the father of twin girls. He enjoys movies, music and trying new restaurants, but they usually have to be able to accommodate the twins!
John is in his 20th year of broadcasting.
